Crown cracks causing water damage
Why it happens here
The concrete crown on top of your chimney expands and contracts with Van Holten's freeze-thaw cycles. Hairline cracks grow into larger openings that let water run down the flue. This is the most common chimney problem in the area.
Our approach
We remove the old crown, pour a new one with proper slope and overhang, and seal it with ChimneySaver waterproofing sealant. A properly poured crown sheds water for 20 years or more.
